Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities

The Office of Provider Standards and Review within the ODMRDD Division of Community Services is responsible for monitoring and oversight of the following:

  • County Boards of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (Accreditation);
  • Certification and registration of county board employees;
  • Certified providers of supported living, including HCBS waiver providers, to individuals living in non-licensed settings (Provider Compliance);
  • Licensure of Residential Facilities (ICF/MR and non-ICF/MR)

Accreditation Reviews are conducted by the ODMRDD to ensure that County Boards of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities meet accreditation standards as outlined in Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2-4-01. Based on the results of an accreditation review, a County Board of MRDD is awarded an accreditation of from one to four years.

  • Additional information about the accreditation process and self-review will be added to the website soon. Please check back to review this new information.
