residential opportunities  

Providing the necessary supports that help individuals live in a home of their choosing is an integral part of the County Board 's mission to ensure that opportunities and supports which promote choices and participation in the community are available for eligible individuals and their families.

Residential funding sources that the County Board connects people to Home and Community Based Waivers which includes the Individual Options and Level One Waivers. These funds help people with disabilities live in homes of their choosing with supports in place that promote independence and inclusion in the community.

There are also Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/ MR) designations for funding in which individuals who desire a congregate living environment are served in private facilities and residences operated by non-profit organizations.

As the County Board examines existing residential options, particular attention and planning is being paid to the concerns of parents of children and adults who want to know where their child will live after they are gone.
